Welcome to the Ams lab webpage! The Ams lab is an organic chemistry group at New Mexico Tech. Our interdisciplinary research uses a wide range of techniques including organic synthesis, NMR spectroscopy, computational chemistry, and crystallography for studying various aspects of organocatalysis and molecular recognition. We have a number of ongoing projects (see Research tab), and our latest research initiatives include: (a) Noncovalent interactions (NCIs) in hydrophobic clefts, (b) new supramolecular synthons using chalcogens, and (c) self-catalyzing molecules using chalcogen bonding.
